An old poem from a few years back...image rendered in Bryce.
Mountains Lost in essential starkness Of plain and tree and wrinkled peak. Wing with the ravens Across unbroken flatness And melt Into the clouds. Don’t miss him When you are enveloped in wilderness. Don’t miss him, Heated sun ascending over two, Entwined. Don’t think of him When clouds illuminate a lonely road That winds up a single barren hillside. Don’t feel him When beautiful isolation embraces you, When the ribs of black mountains fall Like starving bones of some giant beast. The desert stretches on forever, But I am here At this one point in time and space. Don’t miss him. Don’t think of him. Don’t let go. |
